You can take your time!
Immersive interactive  space

Oct  2024 - Feb 2025

This is an immersive interactive project rooted in public art, reflecting on the fast pace of modern life and time anxiety. Using “hurried footsteps” as a metaphor, I placed canvases at Beijing’s busiest intersections to collect footprints, transforming the city’s rhythm into artistic language.
When audiences enter the indoor space, the faster they walk, the quicker the footprints fade; the slower the pace, the longer they remain. The entire atmosphere of the space also shifts in response to people’s movements. Through this immersive experience, the work invites individuals to slow down and rediscover their own rhythm in life — rather than endlessly racing against time.

Our lives often feel tightly bound, where every step matters, every step must be taken, and no misstep is allowed...
But is this relentless pace truly what we desire? What do you want to do with your life?
Slow down and feel it. You can take your time—you don’t have to rush.

A life like interlocking gears,
Advancing step by step with precision and order, never daring to stop. Every stage of life comes with important "tasks" waiting for you to accomplish.
You need to "do the right thing at the right time"

3.3 Summary

I treat hurried footsteps as a symbol of today's fast-paced society and the anxiety of time scarcity, integrating previous research and interviews to bring outdoor public art into an indoor space, creating an immersive interactive experience.

The speed of one’s steps controls how quickly footprints fade— the faster you walk, the quicker the footprints vanish; the slower and steadier the pace, the longer the footprints remain. This expresses the idea that life, like walking, requires finding your own rhythm. Instead of constantly chasing speed, sometimes going slower brings greater clarity.

Relax, you can take your time!

06 Future Prospects

In the future,I hope to refine this concept through the following aspects

ONLINE:
We will set up our own official website, and organize a series of soul-healing events. Collaborating with artists, we aim to launch joint initiatives, including online projects and creative talks. Such as "Slow Living Calendar" and the "One-Minute Silence" short video challenge.

OFFLINE:
Regularly curate interactive and immersive exhibitions based on current events, along with public art initiatives that encourage community participation—such as the "Footprint Collection Project"
