The Soft and The Sharp
My perception of cotton stems from a small personal habit. I have a tendency to pick at my fingers, which often leaves tiny wounds on my hands. So when winter comes and I slip my hands into the soft, fleece-lined pockets of my coat, instead of the expected warmth, I’m met with a sharp sting—as if clusters of cotton turn into tiny blades, piercing my skin. What I feel is not comfort, but pain, tension, and a subtle fear.
This unexpected sensation shattered my usual impression of cotton, revealing a side of it I had never known.

Softness and Sharpness
Taking "softness and sharpness" as the theme, I chose cotton as the primary material for construction.
Through shaping soft cotton into angular geometric forms, I aimed to convey a visual contradiction.
While the inherent properties of the material remain unchanged, I sought to transform its form—using structure to express the sharpness and edge I once sensed in cotton.
